At tonight’s city council meeting, the Boys and Girls Club shared their annual report with the council. The city grants the club $25,000 a year for their operations.
With quite contentious discussion, the city is moving forward with the 60% design plan and relocation order for phase 2 of the Thomas Street project. There’s no denial that the street needs to be replaced, but there are grave concerns about the soil contamination in the area and if the risks can be managed. The council is not convinced as the vote was split 6-5.
In news concerning district 2, Townline Rd will be reconstructed in 2019. Notably, Curling Way will be realigned to eliminate the hazard and congestion that is experienced near its present intersection at the Railroad tracks.
